The OC5 combines classic BOSS octave tones with the latest tracking technologies and sets a new benchmark in octave pedal performance. 

A key feature in this BOSS octave pedal is a new tracking engine, which delivers clean, accurate performance with no latency. The OC-5 also offers a wider range and greater polyphonic capabilities than its predecessor, covering all your octave needs in one high-performance pedal.

Additionally, the OC5 also boasts an evolved version of the smart Poly mode that was introduced with the OC-3 Super Octave pedal, allowing you to play full chords with octave effects. Add to that the Vintage mode from the BOSS OC2, which delivers the famed mono sound, but with improved response.

An additional OC-5 enhancement is the newly introduced octave-up effect, which is accessible in both Vintage and Poly modes. To activate this effect, simply turn the dedicated +1 OCT knob to the desired level. The octave-up effect can be utilized independently to simulate 12-string sounds and distinctive solo tones, or it can be combined with the octave-down effects to create extended chord voicings and fat leads.

The variable Range knob restricts the effect to the lower notes on your instrument, perfect for playing octave bass lines alongside normal chords and melodies in the higher registers. And with the new tracking refinements, it’s even possible to isolate the octave effect to the bottom note in a chord—just turn the Range knob to the lowest setting.

The OC-5 lets you optimize the performance of its tracking engine for either guitar or bass with the dedicated switch on the pedal. With the Direct Out jack, it’s easy to route dry and effect sounds to different destinations, like two-stage amps or discrete channels on a PA mixer.
